- Bristol Plastic Factory (‘BPF’) was formed in 2002 on the foundations of over 20 years of Ultimate history in Bristol. The club was formed to push forward Ultimate in Bristol, to compete at the highest level, both domestically and internationally, and to create a spirited club open to new and experienced members
BPF currently boasts over 60 regular players ranking the club as one of the largest in the country. Our size and commitment has allowed us to push Ultimate in Bristol to the highest levels of competition. We have several GB players in the club, from juniors to masters, who have represented the country at international level. Each year we strive to introduce many new players to Ultimate with fun tournaments run during the winter and Bristol’s first summer league in 2005. Our position as the dominant local team has also given us strong links with the university teams in Bristol, Bath and Cardiff- Spirited play has always been a hallmark of BPF. 2005 saw Nice Bristols (BPF’s women’s team) win ‘Most Spirited Women’s Team’ as well as the club picking up several tournament spirit awards throughout the season. In 2003 BPF also received the ‘Most Spirited Team of the Year’ award
- In national competitions BPF teams consistently finish in the top eight across all divisions (Open, Women’s and Mixed) and our large player base allows us to often enter two or three teams. This domestic success lead to BPF entering its first international tournament in 2005, with the club represented in the Open and Women’s divisions of the European Ultimate Club Championships in Germany. We are now looking forward to competing with the best in the world in Australia in the 2006 World Ultimate Club Championships
Overall Bristol Plastic Factory has been a great success in its first 3 years. Our commitment to high level, spirited Ultimate has given us the rewards of competing with the best teams, seeing the club grow and being honoured by fellow teams with several spirit awards. We look forward to building on these achievements and reinforcing our position as one of the top clubs in the country
